Germany is a European country with a great history, where tourism is not as crucial to its economy as in other countries, but it certainly has a lot to offer those who decide to spend their holidays in Germany. We will see what are the ten essential cities to visit in Germany.

Munich

Munich, located in the state of Bavaria, is one of those cities where it takes more than two days to see the highlights. Among its main attractions is the Hofbräuhaus Brewery, which for many years was the center of public life in the city and a meeting place. It is a historical place, as characters like Lenin passed through it. On the other hand, in Munich we have many religious buildings, such as the church of San Miguel, that of Assam or the Cathedral. The BME factory is in this city.

Berlin

In Germany's capital you should not miss its famous Brandenburg Gate, the old gateway to Berlin and its main symbol. Getting to know the history of the city goes by going to the famous Berlin Wall, especially its part of the East Side Gallery, an open-air art gallery. You should not miss the central Alexanderplatz or the beautiful Berlin Cathedral with its green dome. If possible visit the Reichstag, where the Parliament is located.

Hamburg

Hamburg is a city that was badly damaged by bombing in the Second World War, but has been reborn to become an interesting and lively place. Its commercial port is very busy, but it is also a tourist town where you can enjoy wonderful places, a museum of miniatures for the whole family, or the beautiful town square, with its old buildings. If you want to have fun, don't forget the Reeperbahn and visit the Planten un Blomen park.

Frankfurt

The most important city in the federal state of Hesse, known as Frankfurt am Main. To have a panoramic view of the city we can visit the Torre de Meno, a public observatory. Museums, the zoo or the Palm Garden are also essential.

Cologne

If Cologne is known for anything, it is for its famous cathedrals from the High Gothic period. Its entrance is free, although it is not possible to do tourism during religious services. What it costs is to climb the towers, to enjoy an incredible view of the city. In Cologne you can also enjoy several museums, such as the one inspired by Cologne or the chocolate museum.

Dusseldorf

Düsseldorf is a quiet city located on the banks of the Rhine. In it you can enjoy a pleasant walk through its old town. Here you can see the Castle Square or the town hall building.
